So what's happening out there folks? I imagine the weather's so nice that everyone is busy riding these days
What's up ? I tryed to post up about a Sunday ride Sat morning and the site was down.
We rode out Hamilton pool rd. to 12 to Drippin then to Blanco for breakfast then through
Sisterdale to Luckenbach to Stone Wall then Johnson City then back road's back to
Hamilton pool and 12 for a beer at Bert & Ernie's then back to N. Austin.
Little over 300 mile's round trip for me.
SOrry about that. I was being hammered by bots from china and it was dragging down my server.
Sounds like a damn good day to me - wears me out just thinking about it. The future missus and I took the bike up to Dell Diamond last night to catch a ball game and she let me know she'd feel more comforable with a back rest so she can stop feeling like she's about to fly off the back. Started looking around and frustrates me how expensive everything is so I'm starting to think about how to cobble something together or looking for a cheaper solution. Cool top boxes with back rests cost a few hundred bucks and I don't want to do that for something I'll use a dozen times a year. JC Whitney has a cheap-o one I may try for $40 but it would be more fun to try and make something myself. We'll see.
Swung by Motorangutan today to look at tail bags to get some ideas and like the new location. Lots of room and potential - looks like it's going to be a helluva place in the near future!
Just got back from a honeymoon in Arizona and I can't wait to go back out there on a bike someday. There was a place that rented Harley's for $140 per day but I couldn't justify spending that kind of money to do something that may not go over well with the new Missus Laker. Saw all kinds of folks on their touring bikes and it made me want to pack up and go and, of course, made me think of all the new bikes I want and how much fun it would be to ride them all on 89A from Flagstaff to Sedona.
Came home and went out for a quick spin NE of the Braker/Dessau area and found out there's some fun roads to ride that I hadn't noticed before. I'm so used to heading out to the Hill Country for a ride but don't always want to commit to something like that so it's good to know I can zip around closer to the house and get in a good 30-60 minute ride sometimes.
Tim if you're in the Braker/Dessau area let's get together
my little shop's just north of Braker on Lamar.
That sounds good to me...that's right around the corner from my place.
